Landscape astrophotography refers to the situation where an astronomical phenomenon is combined with the physical landscape, by design or by necessity, to capture the event of interest. Some of the more common situations include the rising and setting moon, rainbows induced by water droplets in the atmosphere, star trail photos and the "dancing lights" (or aurorae) especially common near the geomagnetic poles.
